I had an exhilarating experience recently . It all happened to me on a happy and cloudy saturday morning [yesterday].
I had planned to visit my relatives in Thane. So, I reached Kanjur Marg to board a local, by an auto. I was talking on phone when i reached the station and suddenly it started pouring heavily. I removed the Jacket from my Backpack and put it on. Also i was paying the fare with the other hand. I ran towards the station from auto to avoid soaking in rain.
After 5 minutes, i was horribly shocked , only to realise that i dont have my wallet with me. I couldn't believe that my one of my biggest fears have come true. I was there in Rain, searching for my wallet in all the Auto's with blue seat. Looking for my wallet on the parking ground where i got out of the Auto.
All i was left with was my cell phone . I did not have a single rupee in my pocket. I was lost and confused. Thoughts were racing in my mind, whether i should report to police about the loss. But , i did not have the money to go anywhere. I thought of going to my relative, but again , i had no ticket. I called my room mate to keep some cash ready, as i would need to pay for Auto-walla, but, he was having a life time's sleep so he dint pick up the call.
I was bedraggled and totally confused. I was praying that the auto walla should see my wallet before any robber and call me on the number or some thing else, any magic wold have helped me though.. My wallet is more to me than most of things i have. It has all that can identify me at any given place and time. So in short i was really at a big loss.
Then, it was as if , GOD just answered my prayers. My cell rang, it was an unknown number, thanks to my habit of receiving every call on my cell, i received this one also...........
The voice on the other end asked for Ameya Paratkar. I acknowledged and it said that my wallet has been recovered by him!!
Ab Jaan Mein jaan aa gayee!
And i couldn't believe it was my Day. That person who boarded the Auto after me took the Auto back to the same locality where i stay. I requested him, if he could deliver my wallet to my watch man. This noble man or good samaritan, delivered my wallet to my watch man in the same condition and will all the things intact.
He just took my visiting card and left his with the watch man and left. I reached my home by another auto, took the wallet and checked for any loss, but, there was none.
THANK GOD!!
Hats off to that mumbaikar who did this, i am sincerely thankful to that person, its feels like god cares about me. Surely i must have done some great deed in past that i got my cash filled wallet back and that to within an hour without any loss.
This experience has really taught me to be more careful. It was life's lesson.
I realised how careless i have become and how much i have let myself lose. Hush!! High time i put my mind and thoughts together!!!
